We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization focused on raising money for the animals at the Jacksonville Animal Shelter. We make sure that dogs and cats who come to the shelter injured, sick, or abused, get the veterinary care they need. We sponsor no-fee adoption days and cover the spay/neuter fees. Cats and kittens are no longer euthanized by the dozens during kitten season. We save as many as we can through fostering and free adoption events.
Our shelter is in a Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) city.
No pit bulls, pit mixes, Staffies, or American bulldogs are allowed in the city limits regardless of their behavior or temperament. It is based entirely on their looks. Pitties confiscated are taken to the shelter, where their only hope is adoption through rescue. We pay for all vetting fees including heart worm treatment if needed, and health certificates if they're traveling out of state. Until we repeal the ban, this is there only hope.
Our mobile adoption unit makes several visits in the surrounding area, including Little Rock Air Force Base. We also have fundraisers such a yard sales and dog washes. Whether you volunteer your time or your money, we thank you!
Your support and contributions will help us find loving homes for all the animals in our shelter, regardless of age, breed, health, or length of stay with us.
